While it would be some consolation to think that ATC could serve a useful purpose in the world, it seems to me that any involvement from the Gates Foundation would be unlikely to add much if anything in the way of shareholder value.

Bill G. made his money partly because he was the I.T. world's most ruthless negotiator. If the Foundation has any of his style (and I assume it would) then they would fight like hell to retain every last $, and yield as little as possible.

So, perhaps Avexa could donate ATC to the Bill and Melinda Foundation, but I somehow think they'd be a damned difficult party to make money from.

Better than ATC going in to the dustbin of history, though.
