Still plugging Tony Abbott Hairy! Amazing loyalty to the guy who was entrusted with the reins but lied through his teeth to get the top gong. Abbott through his lies and stupid decisions managed to squander the big lead voters gave the coalition and in record short time it was Labor and Bill Shorten who were riding high. The problem was clearly Abbott and his Office! His own side realised they were headed for a thrashing as a first term govt and in spite of realising the risks of changing leaders mid term had to agonisingly go down that road. That turned the polls back in the coalitions favour.

Unfortunately Abbott opted to continue on the backbench rather than resign and that imo spelt trouble for Turnbull. Turnbull's lead was pegged back by election time but the coalition still won whereas under Abbott it would have been out of govt. Abbott is still seen as a thorn in the side of the coalition and some of his former loyal Cabinet colleagues are now not happy with him.
