Did all pensioners get offers for insulation? No, only home owners.
Did they get offered assistance for their own life hardship like the flood victims did? Its an equal catastrophe , but No. And to think the home owners had a choice to not insure themselves, they were compensated any way...If you can afford to own a home, you can afford to get insulation for $2k.
Some are forced to travel 1.5hrs to go to work under the system (soc sec requirement) which means they earn a hundred bucks a day and pay $40 of it in fuel and lose $20 from their assistance for earning it = $$40 per day in earnings. They can;t get ahead, don;t say its fair, its unfair, all because these things are forced on them because they are on the poverty line.
How do they get ahead?
The rich get richer, the poor get the picture.
Business owners get paid more for getting ahead, the rest get nothing and get behind...nice little cirlcle there.
The country could be run better for all, not just the ones who are ahead IMO.
