    Possibly the y chromosome.

    More seriously the IQ being turned off when a logical outcome is sensed that endangers the emotively desired view of the world.

    For similar reasoning the world's religions insist on teaching children religious dogma well before critical thinking skills are learned to get this emotive switch in place. The last thing they want is logic applied to what they say.

    Apart from a y chromosome the ability to follow a logical argument to its conclusion. Being open to alternative views and exploring their strengths and weaknesses to the extent possible. Not refusing to go there - nothing suggests an emotive block to reasoning more than refusing to discuss a given topic. The outcome is feared so doing so is 'blocked'.
