All a bit tragic the way the media can generate discussion with the intention of influencing the publics view. Would be a non event if the media hadn't brought it up to start with. This whole issue started from some opportunistic journalist that decided to focus on the body shape of a female athlete rather than what she has achieved to get there in the first place. The unfortunate thing now is anything less than a gold medal she will be accused of underperforming due to her body shape. Even then, there will be those that say she could have broken the world record if slimmer. Listened to a sports talk back radio program whilst on a short visit to Perth recently and the commentary from Ken Judge where just disgraceful. The next caller in voiced her disgust and promised never to listen to that program again. They don't hand out positions on the Olympic team unless you earn it. Hope she goes on to win gold and silence some of the armchair critics.
