I just finished googling the Apple iPhone stats. Seems Apple is more guarded about the number of iPhones it sells in particular markets, than I thought.
However, the Fortune magazine online did give some relevant stats for the end of 2015 - which are:
by end of 2015 there were 780 Million smartphones in use in mainland China.
Apple's iPhone was the most popular smartphone (a status symbol among the new rising middle classes, apparently). Apple's iPhone sales in China were 16.8 per cent of all sales - about one percentage point ahead of 2nd place Samsung.
There are 131 million iPhones in total, in use in China at the end of 2015, making it slightly larger that the USA's total.
The only figure I could find in a hurry, for 2017 was the following 1st quarter figures (remembering the USA 1st quarter is Oct to Dec 2016) was that Apple shipped 74.8 million iPhones worldwide in the 1st quarter of 2017.
So you can get a ball park figure of iPhones shipped to China in the 1st quarter.
