GDP is useless its GDP per person that counts..
Example A man lives on an island and makes $100 a year (thats $100 for the individual)
Next year there are 9 immigrants, the island now makes $200 a year however thats $20 per person.
The individual is far worse off.
The media/economists will however claim that the economy is booming as GDP has doubled from the previous year.
