Is that long the USD or AUD?


In the 2007 GFC the USD/EUR strengthened, I believe, because of the George Soros analogy of an octopus - in times of trouble there is a rush to USD as the currency of strength - money withdraws from the overstretched tentacles, into the main body - the USA.

However in 2001 Tech Wreck the USD/EUR weakened.

Please, what is your thinking?
