The best way to mitigate risk is to only commit a small portion of your investment capital to one opportunity...UNLESS you are the one in control i.e a business venture or something you create. Otherwise you are playing with fire. Don't try and get rich off one investment. Live to fight another day if the black swan event happens.

Where this debacle ends up will be a good guide as to whether the ASX is a safe place to invest. At the moment it isn't shaping up that way outside of true blue chips and that is sad reflection on governance.
