    Nah.

China is in huge trouble. Their 40-year run of rapid economic growth has come to an end, their population has peaked and is now in decline, the centrally-planned stimulus spending that has served them reasonably well is now ineffective and they have absolutely no ability or plan to rectify any of it. Any innovation is strait-jacketed by the CCP and the smartest and richest want to leave the country. They now have the low growth trajectory of a Western developed country but with 1/4 - 1/8th the GDP per capita, which means they are stuck in the middle income trap with no chance of catching up, ever.

People who still think China will be a competing power with the US into the future - economically or militarily - are simply deluding themselves.
