DV--the reason as far as i can work out,for the need to raise an extra $65million is that FAS only wanted to do a 50/50 joint venture and $260million is the value applied to be 50%.If FAS was to take $325million of Alliance FAS would lose controling interest in this SHIP project---it would be a 62.5/37.5 j/v which would be unworkable---as far as raising the $65million,i would imagine it will be a lot easier with someone else tipping in $260million.
$325million is the estimated cost to do several things--1/a rail spur has to be built to link into the Kalgoorlie to Esperence rail line---2/a treatment plant has to be built to improve the quality of the ore--(remove sand and other materials)3/A storage and ship loading facility has to be built at the Esperence Port4/Stockpiling each load has to be paid for ($10-20million)for each load and they would have to stay ahead of the game regarding stockpiles to allow for disruptions.5/On site accomodation for workers.6/Power supply 7/Water supply and im sure several other expensive items which all make up a mining company---ie Leasing of haulage trucks--a servicing workshop---on site kitchen facility yadda yadda yadda--it never ends.I truely hope you and all other holders do very well when the SHIP sets sail!
As far as "this mob" as you call them--i did a little research today and it appears they are set up to fund or J/V Australian companies to keep the business here instead of letting it go overseas. All this is IMO.please DYOR.
