redundancy is redundancy, no matter how or why you build it in
you lose 1 wind turbine - you've got 2,999 left quite happily whirling away
you lose one coal mine or one nuke plant - and you lose a LOT, and if it's a nuke station - you probably lose it forever
as far as redundancy goes --------- renewables have it as part of a mix
