Having lost my peerless husband to prostate cancer-( we never thought he was a candidate for any sort of cancer- healthy lifestyle etc etc) I am trying to get the message out that it is NOT sufficient to merely have a blood test to test for PSA .It is necessary to also have physical examination. Many G.P's will just do the blood test and neglect the Physical test-( a bit unpleasant)- However it is possible to have P.Ca whist still showing low PSA- even whilst suffering aggressive form of the Ca. Men are in the majority of posters on his site so please take heed- P.Ca is curable if caught early so please do insist on both tests and go for yearly checks.
