We have heard many times that all these boat people are genuine refugees and eventually end up in Australia. I say let them in let them all in; guide them in. Think of the money saved by closing down facilities on Christmas Island, no longer having the Navy patrolling the Indian Ocean and stopping aerial surveillance etc. But, one BIG BUT. All arrivals will be obliged to work for a period of 5 years assisting aboriginals overcome their problems or assisting the homeless to improve their lot in life. Through this activity, it enable these people to show their gratitude to the people of Australia. If this is not acceptable, they are obviously not seeking asylum or refuge. Fred.
