That is a nonsense argument.
Justice Antonin Scalia died on February 13, 2016- and the very same day, Mitch McConnell declared that the Senate simply would not consider any nominee put forward by Barack Obama- stating that the next President ought to nominate his successor- even though the election was nine months away!
