If you look at what it is costing Tarong to produce a tonne of coal, based on publically available information, then their actual cost to produce is substantially above what the cost from MRV would be. I don't believe Tarong are inflating their costs - the cost is actually substantially higher.
Surely one of our elected members has got to wake up soon to their fiduciary duties to the people of Qld to stop this rip off of the people of Qld that Tarong management is being allowed to continue to perpetuate through ignoring a cheaper cost. Infact isn't this bordering on being an ACCC issue. I see Tarong have been slapped on the hand previously by the ACCC for anti competitive behaviour...
