"Short selling in Fortescue Metals - In attempt to stop traders from short-selling its stock and arrest its sliding share price, Fortescue Metals has asked its largest shareholder – US Harbinger capital Partners – who has been “unwittingly” lending out its stock to short sellers throu8gh its custodian to stop lending out its FMG shares to shorters. The shareholders says they will rectify the situation immediately. They own 16% of which 10% has been borrowed. Fortescue asked Southern Cross Equities to investigate after short selling was blamed for the share price fall from 1315c to 706c this month. Theoretically the custodian will request the stock back and the short sellers will have to buy the stock back in the market. FMG was up 6% yesterday. The announcement came out at 3.45pm."
I wonder???????????????
