It seems like HotCopper, the wonderful forum we all enjoy, missed the AI revolution and we need to help the old digger out.
In AUS we are in the corner of the world and typically do things that happened elsewhere about 15 years later, but thanks to AI, HC may have a chance!
Basically the HC IT team can use any number of the relatively new (been round for a year or two) AI platforms or apps, e.g. Claude/Anthropic, Cursor.AI or Codex/OpenAI to rewrite their decaying code to at a minimum make the pages snappy and at least dynamically refresh prices and posts without clicks and slow loads. These tools will rewrite their codebases with little to no human effort.
If they are brave and ambitious, they could even add some AI agents to help with some basics that they are currently taking tens or hundreds of hours to write in traditional IDE processors. Then they can use another AI code tool to test and deploy the code, most of the time for peanuts.
