It seems in the first couple of weeks there are some factors other than valuation that may impact the best time to purchase a spinoff. Looking at both the coles and S32 spinoffs there seemed to be some weakness in the few days after the shares moved to regular trading (July 1st in this case). I guess what I am asking is when you say that you may accumulate in the coming days, would you see this window as an ideal time. At least the theory states that unnatural holders will be selling on mass.

Thanks for you comments. I have been very inactive the last 10 months or so, but EDV looks interesting - perhaps at a little cheaper level for me. For what it is worth II put EDV's value in the range of $5 to $8 a share. Finally though Dan Murphys and BWS seem to be approaching Bunnings level quality, what about the hotel business which is almost as large?
