"job number one is cutting losses"
Believe it or not this is a cliché that newbies and intermediates take on before their 1st and 2nd total wipe-outs..a healthy trade can swing 40% or more..and if you really know your stuff 60-70%....meh...I prefer this approach..hone your knowledge on cyclical trends, manage risk with position sizing, learn how to average effectively along the way and don't try to outsmart the market, just let it do its thing....if a trade set up ultimately fails beyond doubt, then change your mind on the position and aggressively trade out of it.
