You can add to that injured workers who suffered devastating and incurable neurological ,severe spinal and shoulder injuries while constructing hmas Canberra and Adelaide .Who were fraudulently removed from the workcover system , based on ime insurance drs advice falsely and incorrectly claiming a brain tumour .
Only to be reinstated to payments 17 months later .
For 15 months one individual lived off their savings with no government assistance and no income while supporting their wife and 2 children .At 15 months they approached centerlink as they had almost exhausted all of their savings .
The response from centerlink was "oh you've have no income ,nil (which was literally taken away based on insurance company fraud and lies ) so you are eligible for unemployment benefits" ,to which the injured worker responded with" i don't want your unemployment benefits there is an insurer here that should be meeting their obligations rather than engaging in fraud" ,as they were clearly doing. The injured worker had a 25 year trade career and had never been on centerlink benefits .
The injured worker attempted to return to work 3 times ,was sent home by the company owner upon witnessing their significant injuries on one occasion and finally ordered by drs to stop work due to suffering significant craniocervical injuries .
They (cl) then said "you're eligible for family tax benefit " to which the iw agreed as they had a family and received a 17k payment subsequent to that .
This was all across 3 financial years ,which , when the iw went to court and easily won before court agreement , when finally paid all fell in one financial year ,with the implication leading to an extra 23k in taxes being paid . When the unfortunate and severely suffering injured worker applied to the ato to have their wage rightfully spread across 3 financial years ,years after the injury and the court awarded payment by this stage ,A 17 k robodebt was immediately raised with cl .
So the iw after having their income fraudulently removed with no income for 17 months (and surviving ) being followed relentlessly by pis ,insurance stooges ,put before insurance quacks uneducated frauds of drs (due to with withdrawal of medical care as well as the income) ,all the while suffering the incurable and extremely painful neurological condition spasmodic torticollis plus an undiagnosed dislocated shoulder for 14 months before being recognised by mri and a spine subsequent to the injury with every disc from 0 - T6 destroyed and unable to be fused .
Our federal government took it upon themselves ,in their scumbag operations of attacking the sick and injured via robodebt and other means , to uphold fraud by workcover insurers and demand the return of the 17 k ROBODEBT (18 months Later by this stage ) despite the abysmal treatment and incurable injuries left with this injured worker ,now with significant psychologic injury on top .
So due to insurance fraud the iw was left with a choice pay 23k extra in tax or 17 k back in family tax benefit that was to benefit an entire family including children that were now living in poverty plus another 15 + k in unnecessary legal fees that were needed due to the actions undertaken by insurers and government "authorities" ,due again , to insurance and medical fraud on an individual suffering unquestionable and incurable neurological spinal and shoulder injuries .
The iw was severely harassed for a further 3 years subsequent to this with $0 offers the entire time backed by abuse bullying and fraud the entire time .
On the steps of the supreme court they were lowballed with an offer of about 20% of future earnings ,with their own lawyers putting up no fight on behalf of the iw, nil , after over half a decade of outright abuse ..
