If a someone has picked a share instead of an option, if available, that expires (say) late 2006, then they do not know what % are all about.The leverage can be amazing because to win this comp leverage is required. For example picking DIA instead of DIAO is too stupid for words.
As well by picking one stock that goes up 'heaps' is a big disadvantage for someone with a basket of 3 & a bigger slap in the face for a basket of 4.
Also another reason for picking cheapies is that if the comp is close I can buy up the gap on the last day of the comp & start walking to Brisbane, should arrive rather hungry from Perth.
