Hi Stoopy,
Just to correct you on the shipping, the first stage involves using a shallow draft barge which is loaded with shipping containers at Lucky Bay. The barge is then taken out to the ship which has its own loading crane on board to empty the containers into its hold. Look at IMX resources for an example of container loading. The cost contribution from the container loading is small relative to the rail contribution.
The next stage, involving the floating harbor is very similar to one-steel's shipping operation close by. Have a look at http://www.cslaustralia.com.au/transhipment.html to see the reality of this kind of technique in operation.
