These people should be cleaners or gardeners Telephonists should at least speak and understand English.
Its been like that for donkey years……management are too sacred to tell them that they’re only suitable to work in the background!
May kids struck this at high school with an overseas born teacher…..the headmaster told my wife that they should listen closer to the teacher.
This fear by management is pronounced at workplace’s when it involves school holidays!
They are reluctant to put two income families with kids being rostered on for school holidays…non child obligated, generally have no choice, being forced to work during school holidays. Basically if ur a grandparent, u could be denied the opportunity to spend ur time with a grand child on a cruise during school holiday period.
When school holidays that are prior to Xmas the trips for oversea trips are cheaper for Europe etc. This forced work commitments for a non child obligated employee forces them to spend more money for oversea trips because of these greedy two income families with kiddies!
To encourage management to develop some guts and become fairer, the Union should demand penalty rate’s for school holiday periods!
It wouldn’t surprise me that these parents would suddenly be prepared to dump theirs kiddies anywhere! This commonly happens in private and public sectors if it involves overseas junkets.
