Independent MP Andrew Wilkie has suggested that Bronwyn Bishop be investigated for fraud, saying fresh revelations the Speaker claimed a $6,000 luxury aircraft ride are the final straw.
Wilkie, who plans to move a no-confidence motion against the Speaker when parliament resumes, says Bishop should be investigated by federal police.
Bishop is reported to have spent more than $6,000 to hire a luxury corporate aircraft to transport her 160km from Sydney to Nowra late last year.
The trip, to attend a Liberal party fundraiser in Berry, was two weeks after the Speaker’s controversial chopper ride from Melbourne to Geelong, News Corp Australia reports.
Wilkie claimed Bishop was a “serial abuser” of travel entitlements and unfit to be Speaker
