I'm sorry I dont recall the article, but from memory may have been a recent * article.
It focussed on the looming copper shortage and the lack of recent copper discoveries.
It also discussed the adverse political situations in both Chile and Peru ( both account for up to 40% of total global production) and in turn the need for new, large, shovel ready copper discoveries/ projects in Tier 1, stable countries.
I do believe the article also discussed that the likes of Ivanhoe, Glencore etc are just sitting on Billions of cash waiting for such an opportunity to present itself.
Now personally I believe Dave is a very smart, switched on cookie, he knows the majors, how they think, what they are looking for and I firmly believe Dave has a strategy specific to making Storm as attractive and of highest value to current shareholders as possible that will attract a premium offer from a major.
And I don't think the expected timeline is very extensive either, I would suggest about 2-3 years, not 5+.
Now, this is my belief, I could be, or quite likely am totally off the mark, but I also must add that I am totally happy for us to mine this ourselves.
I just have the feeling that given the current geopolitical environment the global economic environment, the looming massive copper deficit and taking into account the EV and net zero targets, copper is essential, in fact as we know critical to the future electrification of a low emmissions future.
And I feel that timelines will be drastically reduced to enable new/ progressing discoveries to add to the supply.
In the meantime plenty of work to do during the next couple of drilling seasons!
