Personally, I don't think the minister is at all phased with RIO's size. Indeed, I feel that this will work against their cause for two reasons.
1. Ministers don't like being stood over.
2. This is an ideal opportunity to remind mining companies of their obligations in respect to crown land and to ensure that the mining act is to be taken seriously.
If the decision goes RIO's way it will herald a very black day for the mining industry and undermine the very principles of the mining act.
