I emailed the following to GNI this morning, it will be interested to see the response I get back:
Dear Mr Mortimer,
I am writing to you regarding the manner that our Company makes releases announcements to the ASX.
Whilst I appreciate that I do not have access to the same level of information as the Directors of GNI and whilst I understand that timelines occasionally gets missed, it seems that GNI?s last two announcements did not provide information that the market was expecting and hence, the market reacted negatively.
When we entered the trading halt on the 19th September, the announcement stated ?pending an announcement on the completion of drilling and the Company?s move towards US listing?.
The announcement the ASX received on the 21st September makes no mention at all regarding the US listing and talks about an incomplete and postponed drilling program.
Can you please explain why this is the case?
I am also interested in knowing why the Company on two occasions has issued links to Boardroom radio interviews first and then releasing the price sensitive announcements afterwards. I have never seen this with other companies that I hold shares in.
I am sure you would agree that the current share price is extremely disappointing but given the global macro factors at play, I am not writing to you regarding the current share price, I am more concerned with how the management of GNI communicate news about our company with shareholders and the market.
With all your years of experience with mining / exploration companies, I am sure that you appreciate the additional loyalty that shareholders show to management who keep them accurately informed of the Company?s activities.
Thank you for taking the time for reading this and I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Al
