The situation with this Australian company is indicative of a wide and persistent malaise affecting the ASX which was the subject of a Senate enquiry into the performance of ASIC chaired by Andrew Bragg.I sincerely hope the findings brought down by this committee are acted upon and not shelved as others have been before. ASIC should be well funded and given clear instructions to implement the findings of the Australian High Court in 2013. Market manipulation to create 'artificial' share prices is a crime.Period.

Predatory short selling and market manipulation on the stock market is rife. ASIC has been missing in action.Why? Your guess is as good as mine. I give the benefit of the doubt and put it down to lack of funding and not trying to keep on the right side of a former or potential employers The following is an example of a general attitude among investors.They should not be ignored;

I can personally vouch for the accuracy of this statement. Politicians will ignore it at their peril.There are millions of voters who are affected by this manipulation.Not least people who have Superannuation. There is widespread looting of the Australian Stock market by overseas interests.They drive a stock into bankruptcy or liquidation and buy the assets with one of the cheapest currencies on the planet then resell it using one of the most expensive-the US dollar.

Case in point 'Metal Storm' a weapon designed and developed in Australia.Hedge funds used the above tactics to drive the company into liquidation. They bought the IP for a bargain basement price in Aussie dollars and then onsold the IP to the US Defense Dept nine months later for 750k US dollars-just under a billion Aussie dollars.This is happening all too often and Australian governments apparently turn a blind eye. Why?

The amount of tax the Australian economy misses out on,in my view, is enormous. Capital gains tax foregone on one hand and tax lost due to tax loss claims over the years must be in the billions of dollars.Dollars that could have built hospitals,schools, improved medicare etc.

All over the Western world established political parties are losing trust among the general populace. Why? Is it because the parties have been captured by vested interests?

I hope Dan, who I believe is one of the MPs who truly represents their electorate,bears all this in mind when he returns to Canberra.
