"Secondly, it seems he would have been fine with killing Afghans but not Iraqis, perhaps even just a whinge that he wasn't deployed where he wanted to be"

"it doesn't say the same to me as it obviously is for others."

    I agree with the latter

"He keeps saying I did not join the army to do this or that, I just wanted to attack Afghanistan."

    No, he doesn't

I clearly remember Dubya threatening the troops with treason if they didn't go off and fight in Iraq.

I also clearly remember Dubya saying "We are going to liberate... bring freedom and democracy to the good people of Iraq".

The war was illegal under UN rules, the US did attack someone who was not threatening them directly.... everyone with half a brain knows it was about oil....

ALSO, according to Retired US General Wesley Clark, the PLAN... (yes, the PLAN) the PLAN was to invade a lot of countries post 9/11.

If you think all the countries around Iraq are all suddenly wanting to be liberated from their oppressors (some who were maintained by the US at a time when they saw fir).... that suddenly they all want "freedom and democracy"...... maybe you should be careful you are not saying "all the way with LBJ" type things.....

"Don't read more into it than what I posted, not condoning Iraq, not a fan of Bush/Cheney etc"

Actually, I'm not so sure about that one... with all respect that is due..
