Why do you think whether people support or are against PEP11 is relevant?

You are perpetuating the #1 myth about PEP11, that the public can influence the outcome, they can't.

The Joint Authority cannot refuse the permit on public interest grounds alone.

Scomo tried to do this, his decision was overturned.

If Albo tries this, he will also fail, the decision will be overturned IMO.

The NOPTA application is a merits based decision, many people do not understand what this means.
It means that the JA/Husic do not have a right of veto, they cannot arbitrarily make this decision based on "the vibe".
The decision must be made in accordance with the law, and the OPGGS Act. If it is not, it will go back to court.

The fundamentals of this project have not changed since April 2020 when NOPTA issued their advice which is to recommend the application for approval. They did this again in 2023, and this has placed Albo into inertia. He won't allow the JA to approve because it will cause him public embarrassment, he won't reject it because he knows he has no legal basis to do so and he will be back in court. So he sticks his head into the sand. Fantastic, what leadership.

So affirmative action is not about garnering public support, it is about shining the spotlight on the corrupt practices of the Department officials and Joint Authority members for failing to perform their duties appropriately which is essentially misconduct in office. That is best thing shareholders can do to get the Government to do their job properly.
