    I have drafted the following letter to the EU representative in Australia;

    Draft of letterto EU High Commissioner-Australia

    Your Excellency,

    I draw your attention to the following article from an Australian Universities publication;

    https://theconversation.cmail19.com/t/r-l-tidratt-buhijdtgt-n/

    As you can read, it may well be we have reached the 1.5% tipping point.This is of great

    concern to me,personally but I'd be one of many millions all over the planet.

    At the same time the EU is being rocked by a farmers rebellion against EU rules designed to restrict greenhouse emissions which threatentheir already tenuous livelihoods.

    How is this impasse to be resolved?

    An Australian innovation provides a partial,if not a complete, solution.

    The manufacture and use of concrete,worldwide, produces around 7% of greenhouse gas emissions;

    https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2021/1031/1256726-concrete-co2-emitter/

    Any reduction in this figure has to be regarded as a plus and an essential component in the fight to save our planet as a habitable world.

    There is an Australian innovation process in concrete admixtures which can do exactly that.

    https://edencrete.com.au/faqs/

    As you can see a panel of Architects have estimated up to 58%compressive strength and 27'5% in flexural strength of concrete using this Australian additive. In other words taking a very conservative figure of ,say,30% in overall strength of treated concrete means 30%less concrete can be used to satisfy architectural building and construction requirements.

    30%of 7% estimated greenhouse emissions attributed to concrete use is2.1percent.

    More than enough to offset the tipping point figure of 1.5%if additives equating to this standard of performance, were mandated,world-wide.

    The additive has impressed neutral observers,eg Federal and State governments in the US,such that they have mandated the use ofconcrete to the standards set by this Australian additive and it's byproducts. It is finding increasing commercial acceptance.

    However,inspite of this,take up has been incredibly slow. It has met with hostility,denigration, blocking tactics and suspected political pressuring from entities that see it as a threat to their businesses and profits. Activities,in my view, to be deplored given the parlous state our planet is in.

    In fact,I'd go further and support proscription of any attempt to forestall greenhouse reductive initiatives for base commercial reasons.

    Be that as it may,I strongly recommend ,after confirmation and verification of the information referred to above, the EU Environmental Protection bodies be made aware of it so they may take advantage in their further considerations in combating our climate emergency.

    As the EU cannot be seen to favour a particular product,they can follow the example set in the US

    and require any concrete additives to meet specifications based on the standards set by this Australian innovation.

    sincerely

    I will also forward a copy to our Environmental Minister along with copies to all independents and Teals.As well,I'll make sure all organisations dealing with environmental and climate issues get a copy.
    I'd appreciate posters giving it a quick once over to make any suggestions and comments asap.I'll send a copy to Jamie Scoringe on Monday.
