One of the things that makes counteracting the sort of cynical political sabotage CXY has been subjected to incredibly difficult is the "backfire effect":

I think we are seeing a lot of this in Australian politics in general at the moment, and certainly in respect of the response to events that tend to clear CXY of wrongdoing.

All a little depressing really but I guess we just have to do the best we can.
