Cougar energy CXY, in QLD, are a underground coal gasification company similar to Linc energy and Carbon energy, they provide to the qld department of environment and resource management ground and water tests at the requested times each month, the same as the other two companies, the company is run by excellent management by Dr Len Walker, last month, one of the tests supplied to DERM, was analysed by one of their [ DERMS ] analysts, the reading according to this analyst was way over and above set levels of pollution allowed within the test, they [ he or she ] past this on to the QLD labor gov;, immediately in a knee jerk reaction the plant was shut down by them, within days further tests were done that showed that there was no threatening levels of pollution in the ground or water AND that the mentioned test provided to QLD gov, to be a incorrect reading done in the lab, strangely the analyst was sacked or laid off immediately. Being an election year and a labor seat and having local farmers damning the industry, the company was directed to supply water to local farmers within a 2 klm radius, which they complied with, Dr Walker has supplied all tests that have been required by DERM and the QLD gov; to this day, now they require the company to supply more involved tests which the company has never been advised of, ALL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT TESTS have been provided.
This company is now held in limbo having to lay off staff in more areas than Brisbane to survive, it is now having to borrow money to cover shortfalls by this injustice, and frankly is running in a very grey area, this is an election driven witch hunt on Cougar Energy, and is possibly being supported [ behind doors] by the CSG coal seam industry, who dont want to see UCG develop, I hope one of you journalists have the guts to have a look at this, and expose the wrongdoing.
