re: $$$ letter to shareholders Yea , not bad at all Arthur , that looks like the work being done by Professor Bruce Robinson of the faculty of medicine of UWA . They use heat stressed autologous tumors as a vaccine with GM-CSF and interferon . This stimulates the dendritic cells to recognise the cancer and direct the T cells to the cancer . So far these vaccines have their limitations . Dendreon claims to have the most effective type of vaccine , where they remove the dendritic cells from the blood , then insert the cancer material using a virus , then reinject the dendritic cells back into the bloodstream . I think they are getting about a 20-30% response rate on prostrate cancer with many other cancers in the pipeline .
What you have got to remember is that SBP002 starts to pop (apoptosis) cells and when the immune cleanup starts the dendritic cells seem to pick up the scent and direct an immune system attack to the cancer site also . The current crop of chemo drugs suppress the immune system . Professor Bruce Robinson has been investigating this for Solbec and I think the results cannot be too far off .
Cheers
