Good post Meerkat,

Just a few points to consider:
1) NT allow the largest legal limit road trains in Australia, some of which top 200 tonnes, 180 tonnes haulage...130 is the average.

2) The Opex figure of $100 last year, had a $62 fuel and train haulage component to darwin. I believe it was 50% break up for each part of the trip. Fuel hasn't gone up that significantly since the evaluation last year...not $50 per tonne anyway.

3) Just remember to not think linear in terms of loading trucks and hauling, I'm assuming there will be quite a few bulldozers, trucks etc. A lot of mining operations have 'parallel' loads occuring....you can have 2-3 loads every hour, you just need to have the infrastructure to support the operation.
