I have one thing to add to this thread if I may.
Shares are assets, just like property. The important difference is that they are very liquid, and can be regularly valued. It is impossible for instance to value your home on a daily basis. You buy home with the expectation that over 7 to 8 years it should double in value based on industry averages.
If you were to trade your house say every month or two, your property value would diminish over time due to transaction costs. So I have challenged myself......
Hold onto equities as you would a house and in the long term i will still be in front if i have selected properly.
Timing therefore is critical to my purchasing strategy and no matter what asset class I want to buy, this is plain and simple. With XJO recently tumbling what better opportunity to start ticking the remaining boxes.
