In my opinion the initial 4 or 5ktpa LCE is what may be the initial result from trying to “turn this from a science project into a real project”

They state the ion exchange works; however, they don’t say that it works at a commercial scale.

They state that they’re targeting 80% recovery, but when have they hit their targets.

They state they’re starting without grid power, so that probably means a mix of gas/diesel generation and maybe solar.

I think that the big thing that needs to be transitioned from science experiment equipment to real project equipment is the ion exchange module. The new and larger ion exchange module that they’ve been building needs to be proven and optimised prior to build out.

I think that the 4 or 5 ktpa will be what they expect that a couple of real project ion exchange modules can produce.

I also note that they just use the term LCE. So expect that the 4 or 5ktpa may initially just be LiCL at Kachi.
