The paper above comes out after the same group published a few weeks ago "Altered Outer Retinal Structure, Electrophysiology and Visual Perception in Parkinson's Disease", earlier in 2023 "Retinal Assessment Using In Vivo Electroretinography and Optical Coherence Tomography in Rodent Models of Diabetes", and in 2022 "Characterization of retinal function and structure in the MPTP murine model of Parkinson's disease".
In my opinion, this is a really smart research group. Their work will result in new eye drops against retinal changes in many diseases such as diabetes and Parkinson's. Most likely they are iron chelation drops as ATH434.
