I took this photo in 2012 from a hide a friend maintained in the Hunter Valley. I like this shot because even while the bird is shaking itself dry it doesn't move its head, so it is always alert for danger. The photo was taken at 1/320th second, which shows how quickly a bird shakes dry. Lewins are a good bird to photograph as no jet blacks or pure whites on them to make exposure difficult.
