Did demand actually drop though. More cars were sold in 2023 than in 2022. Infact if you look at what the estimates for 2023 were back in 2021 the actuals were significantly higher then first estimates.
I think this was more of a new supply issue rather than demand.
The lack of demand is in overpriced EVs that ford / GM/ etc are trying to sell. Actual global demand is continually rising.
