This has been on the cards and studied for years. One thing making it difficult is the weak nature of the rock geology underneath the whole Camooweal area with sink holes and caves etc making a suitable rail corridor hard to delineate.
No doubt with major projects in the pipeline including Wonarah this may become a reality one day and open up that whole land locked region. Road transport is ok for short term but not really sustainable for 500km+ return for each truckload for decades of Phosphate mining.
