The question of cobalt-less batteries came up in todays presentation too. COBs response was that most of the battery manufacturers they have been talking to for sample testing and further discussions have been developing their technologies around batteries containing Cobalt for next 10-15 years. They believe that technology may evolve to replace cobalt in batteries but it may not happen earlier than 40-50 years down the road, much beyond the lifecycle of Broken hill cobalt project that is expected to start production in 3 years from now.
