Those aircraft carriers have a large enough nuclear reactors on board to power the aircraft carrier for 20-30 years before the fuel is spent.
However a lot of other support stuff still relies on petroleum products to run. I'd imagine offsetting any or all of these to electric would be great.
Should also be noted the US military is on of the biggest users of fossil fuels, all those jets and support aircraft etc use a lot of fuel. If the US military takes an interest in EV's etc then I'm sure that can only be good for the uptake.
