Let's not forget since we're on the topic of graphite, I read a while ago that if the technology of batteries have kept pace with the CPU, we'd have batteries with the capacity of a nuclear plant (or somewhere along that line). There are barriers to some technological advancement.
It'll be mingboggling to actually be able to see a cat suspended between 2 trees by a single atom layer of graphene, but the journey there is going to take a whole lot of human ingenuity to achieve (plus time)
