I agree that the ones showing improvements in existing technology will be implemented if they are just slight tweaking of how the batteries are made now. It is the ones talking a huge totally different technology that is completely untested but lasted a long time or gave something special in a test tube only, that I was really having a tizzy fit over. (plus I woke up in a lot of pain this morning and was feeling really lousy all around)
So sorry if the article was just the tweaking lithium one, but there are all sorts of changes being brought up. Over 90% will end up going nowhere, as soon as they get them into the real world.

I don't see where the fuel cell vehicle needs lithium, nor do I see fuel cells as a technology that is going anywhere. Samsung have or are about to sell off their fuel cell division and build a large Li-on factory putting there future squarely on battery technology.
I just re-read the first article, and yes I now see how it does mention lithium batteries and as a breakthrough for them, but I'm not sure that will go anywhere, and shouldn't be headlines with gold nanowires, which make it extremely expensive. If it works with the nickel that they haven't tested, just suggested it might work with, then that would be news. So sorry for having a hissy fit over it.

But if we fill these pages with links to every new project that someone is working on in relation to batteries, then pretty quickly it will be hard to find out anything about PLS.

I'm sure there must be threads somewhere else about break through technologies, perhaps all these stories belong there?
