The jist is that new evaporation ponds (while better than mining) are being resisted by locals in the lithium triangle due to concerns it will dilute/pollute local lands and water supply. Article goes on to state that some new firms (partnered with Monash Uni) are looking to embed filters into the aquafer to pull liquids out, rather than by pumping brine in.
I don't necessarily see this affecting AGY negatively as its still in trial stages, and the ponds AGY has are fairly well established and away from population centers - however it could be responsible for some weaker sentiment recently.
