I'll add one point, repair costs. While maintenance is often cited as cheaper for EV's, repair costs from collisions can be far more expensive than regular ICE vehicles. There's a really good YouTube channel called Rich Rebuilds, he's an American who salvages/repairs Teslas and other EV's. He has a video about his Rivian R1T that was involved in a very minor collision, and it left a small dent in the rear bumper/tailgate. It looked like the type of damage that would cost a few thousand to fix. The quoted repair price was over US$40k (see below).

Unfortunately quite a few EV's have the battery forming the integral structure of the vehicle. That can mean that minor crashes and damage are far more expensive to repair.

All that being said though, I'm in love with the Rivian R1T and would buy one in a second if they were available in Australia. But I can see why many people would be more cautious about such a purchase.
