Anyone pushing hydrogen as some sort of answer to passenger vehicles is simply under-researched or has some specific agenda to push, afaict.
If they simply understood the distribution and handling issues, as well as the fundamental (lack of) efficiency of the multiple “loss” stages from production to wheels, they’d be aware that it cannot compete with BEVs - not even close.

My neighbour charges his EV from rooftop solar using excess that otherwise gets sold for peanuts; it effectively costs him less than $2 per 100km. This is the vast majority of his charging, the odd “supercharge” on a longer trip makes up the rest.
My gas guzzler costs well over 10 times that, just to fuel, let alone the maintenance etc.
What do you think the “petrol station” will sell hydrogen for?!
