The Minister of Production and Sustainable DevelopmentMartín de los Ríoshighlighted the mining development of Salta at the European Seminar on the Lithium Value Chain: Opportunities and Challenges that took place this morning at the Argentine Center of Engineers in the City of Buenos Aires. Aires.
The official presented the Provincial Plan for Sustainable Mining Development 2030, emphasizing predictability, legal certainty, environmental sustainability and social license, central axes of the mining policy of the Government of Salta in the administration of GovernorGustavo Sáenz.
In this scenario, de los Ríos highlighted the strategic actions that were promoted from the management of the productive portfolio, which resulted in the positioning of Salta as one of the main investment attractions in Latin America and the world.
In addition, the official highlighted the development of the SIMSA mining information platform, which is already in the pilot testing stage, and which will make it possible to make information about the activity in Salta transparent, facilitating the declaration of projects, the control of their impact socioeconomic, environmental and productive.
He also referred to the support of SMEs in Salta, through the Registry of Local Mining Suppliers, in order to enhance the productive fabric of the province and the promotion of mining employment, together with different educational and training strategies.
He highlighted that Salta has 42% of the lithium resources available in the country, with 3 projects under construction of a commercial plant, 8 in a pilot plant and 24 projects in advanced exploration in the salt flats of the Puna of Salta.
In addition, he emphasized the importance of the creation of the Lithium Region, an initiative promoted by Governor Gustavo Sáenz, together with the governments of Jujuy and Catamarca, with the purpose of safeguarding the legal, economic and environmental interests of the litiferous provinces.It was formed with the support of the provincial legislatures.
Finally, he referred to the legal system of Salta in mining matters, which has an articulated management between the Mines Court and the Secretariat of Mining and Energy as an advisory body to the court, respecting the independence of the Powers of the State.
